Featured Member: Chris Morris

Full Name: Chris Morris

Alternate and way-more-accurate name: Dude-you-definitely-want-on-your-team-for-movie-trivia-night

These are a few of my favourite things:

  • TCM (Turner Classic Movies)
  • Digital Arts
  • Writing
  • Illustrating

Chris Morris may be among our most widespread traveler on the SUTIL team, attending our events in Saskatchewan all the way from the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna, British Columbia. Chris has been working with CAT for twelve years, and appreciates the school’s inviting, non-pressured approach to recruiting students.

Unsurprisingly, Chris is an avid classic movie lover, and excels at movie trivia as a result! He said it was movies like “Citizen Kane”, “Maltese Falcon” and “His Girl Friday” are what inspired him to go to Film School at Centre for Arts and Technology in the first place. This, however, extends to even cooler dimensions: Chris has authored a comic book, titled “The Supers: 3rd Best Super-team in the World”, the second one which is coming out soon! It is without surprise that when asked what he would do if he never had to sleep, his answer was “writing”. This passion, he shared, all began in grade eleven, with a teacher giving back an assignment and simply stating that Chris was a great writer. He was hooked. I’d like to think that now, as a student recruiter, this process has come full circle.

Chris is, without a doubt, a very talented member of our team who represents a unique institution, and we are very lucky to have him showcasing the world of art as a future career path for students!

Even though I am over a half a Century old, I have been inspired by the group to go for higher education. I have applied to the University of Regina and I got accepted. I plan on taking classes there and there and I pray and hope I will be successful to obtain two more degrees before I reach age 55. I want to be a role model for the students, my family, and the community. Before retiring I will tackle Masters.

Happy Friday the 13th of December,

Thank you for The SUTIL Scoop and the SUTIL team visit at Rhoda Hardlotte Keethanow High School in Northern Saskatchewan. I noticed some of the team members were into Volleyball during the noon hour. Maybe that is how the team works; to have fun and to laugh and to warm up before presenting to the students and staff. Great Team! Thank you once again, SUTIL Team.

Hi Linda and Cheryl,

Thank you on behalf of Nutana Collegiate for bringing your event to our students. I have been hearing nothing but positive feedback in the building since this morning. Being new in the career facilitator role in my building, I can’t tell you how grateful I am for having such a well-organized and easy (from the host school perspective) event to offer to my students. All of the hard work that you have put in is much appreciated. I look forward to future events.
