Featured Member: Cheryl Anne Boyes

Full name: Cheryl Anne Boyes

Alternate and way more accurate name: SUTIL Website & Communications Mastermind Extraordinaire

These are a few of my favourite things:

  • Family
  • Ukrainian dancing
  • Relaxing with a glass of wine

Cheryl Anne Boyes, representing Saskatchewan Polytechnic, has been working for SaskPoly for three years. Cheryl’s lively spirit, bubbly nature, and overall passion shows in the work she does… not to mention, this lady has a heart of GOLD. You’ll often see Cheryl talking to students well past an event has ended, which just proves that she will climb mountains without complaint in order to spark a passion in students for their future.

When she isn’t changing the world by inspiring the future generation, however, you’ll likely find her doing one of two things: dancing or writing. Cheryl has practiced Ukrainian dancing for more than twenty years, loves performing, and views this as her art form of expression. Additionally, she keeps a collection of all her favourite funny memories written down, serving as a reference book for all of the wonderful moments in her life that she is grateful for.

One thing you won’t find Cheryl doing, is staying stagnant; she continually looks for ways to grow and develop the skills she already has in order to be the best version of herself possible. This is shown, also, by Cheryl’s piece of advice to students, where she says that it’s important to not rush in finding a perfect path in life, but rather, “keep learning…lean towards the things that make sense, make you happy, feel right and with grace”.

Testimonials

Even though I am over a half a Century old, I have been inspired by the group to go for higher education. I have applied to the University of Regina and I got accepted. I plan on taking classes there and there and I pray and hope I will be successful to obtain two more degrees before I reach age 55. I want to be a role model for the students, my family, and the community. Before retiring I will tackle Masters.

Happy Friday the 13th of December,

Thank you for The SUTIL Scoop and the SUTIL team visit at Rhoda Hardlotte Keethanow High School in Northern Saskatchewan. I noticed some of the team members were into Volleyball during the noon hour. Maybe that is how the team works; to have fun and to laugh and to warm up before presenting to the students and staff. Great Team! Thank you once again, SUTIL Team.

Hi Linda and Cheryl,

Thank you on behalf of Nutana Collegiate for bringing your event to our students. I have been hearing nothing but positive feedback in the building since this morning. Being new in the career facilitator role in my building, I can’t tell you how grateful I am for having such a well-organized and easy (from the host school perspective) event to offer to my students. All of the hard work that you have put in is much appreciated. I look forward to future events.
